When I finished this book, it felt like waking up from a beautiful nightmare. Like I had been in another world for the past two days.
You were brought into the life of Nico, a cocky, cool teenager who discovers he has the power to move objects without touching them. When he gets a mystery text telling him to meet at Trafalgar Square, his life turns upside down. Not only does he find out that he has the Medusa Gene – a gene for psychic abilities – he also discovers that there are three other teenagers who were implanted with the gene whilst in their mother's womb, just like him. But they all have different powers and what Jack Linden - a scientist working on the Medusa Gene – is trying to do is find them and cause a reunion that could end in disaster…
The Set-Up is a fast-paced, action-packed, exciting novel. The characters have a very interesting relationship, which is basically the body of the story. I can feel Nico's fear, love, and anger. The only negative point I can find was that the plot was somewhat predictable. I recommend this book for ages 10 and upwards; there are a few swear words in it but nothing too offensive.
