I got this book for Christmas and tried to start reading it but I wasn't really enjoying it. So, I left it in my bedroom and came across it a couple of days ago and thought that I would read it.
To start off with I just could not stop reading it and then was really enjoying it. Although, when I did take a break from it when I tried to resume reading I didn't really enjoy it as much as I had done before. The middle part of book was a bit slow and there wasn't really that much going on.
Charlie is just about to go into high school when his best friend dies- well commits suicide. I know that doesn't sound very happy but he doesn't really dwell on it.
Charlie doesn't go into school with a friend and so he is all alone. Until...he meets Sam and Patrick who are brother and sister. Charlie then gets a set of whole new friends and starts to think that he really is living his life. But then, everything goes wrong with all his friends and everything he had. With that he turns to alcohol and drugs.
Then, things finally start looking up for him and he gets all of his friends back but will Charlie ever live his life to the full?
I would recommend this book to teenagers that are quite mature as it can be quite sad and also it's quite sexual as well. When I read the book, I thought that the book has a really strong moral and that was that you have to live your life to the full!
I would recommend this gook as a good read. I think that I would give this book a 7 out of 10.
