Fortunately, The Milk… by Neil Gaiman – review

MarsBar27: 'You'll want to read more after this crackpot calamity tale!'

Mum's away, so Dad's in charge, but, there's no milk! So dad must get some with the help of a dinosaur with a flying machine and many diversions along the way. On his way he meets: Globby green aliens, intergalactic police, pirates and angry volcano gods demanding human sacrifice! Could buying milk be so humorously adventurous?

But, this adventure may mean he's stuck for ever in this strange world. Will he ever get back to his home? Most importantly, will the milk be in one piece after a bunch of sun-scared vampires attack him? Well, you'll have to read it to find out!

With fantastic illustrations by Chris Riddell, Fortunately, The Milk… is a hilarious book by bestselling author Neil Gaiman. It creates funny images and its superb pictures may even put you off the book! You'll want to read more after this crackpot calamity tale! It's more for readers who are fairly confident, but it would also be even better read aloud. For children aged 7+.
