This was a really good book by Mark Haddon and I found it very different to other adventure books. It could have been imagined in lots of different ways. This book was about a 12 year old boy who has a friend. But the boy's 16 year old sister lies to him about going to a boarding school. The boy is not sure about it so he goes to see his friend. His friend gives him some walkie talkies so they can hear about the boarding school from the teachers. But it turns out it is not true!

The next day the boy's friend has disappeared! This sends him and his sister on a crazy exciting adventure on a stolen motorbike (from the sisters boyfriend). I really loved this book. It was a very strange adventure book with lots of bloody violence and lots of mild swearing. I would recommend this book for ages 10 to 15.
