Timmy Failure by Stephan Pastis – review

JDBookGroup: 'We laughed until everyone in our neighbourhood heard us. Our school shook with our laughter!'

Timmy Failure is about a boy who owns a detective agency called Total Failure Inc. It doesn't sound like a good name for a detective agency until you realise why it's called that. Total is his pet who also happens to be a Polar Bear and and Timmy's surname is Failure.

Why should you read this book? Because it's fun to read and exciting, it's like comedy. How loud did we laugh? Until everyone in our neighbourhood heard us. Our school shook with our laughter. The funniest bit? When Timmy realised 20 minutes later that he could just take off his cape instead of being stuck under the royal mailbox.

Would we be friends with Timmy if we met him in real life? Yes, because he's crazy and he's funny: he describes his teacher going yap, yap, yap. He's discombobulated! We wouldn't be his friend because he's too selfish, he's a nerd, maybe he's too crazy all of the time. We worry he would get us in double detention all of the time!

The book is full of amazing drawings! You can tell that the author Stephan Pastis is a cartoonist. We asked him what his favourite book was. He told us on Twitter that it was How to Eat Fried Worms and that we'd better read it!

The book is a quick book to read. Some of us read it in one week or even two days. It was a pleasure to read it.

Out of ten? Nine out of 10 - although some of us say 10!

Thanks for reading our amazing and cool review!
