The Companions Quartet: The Gorgon’s Gaze by Julia Golding – review

BookWorm: 'This is unlike any other series because it has got all the ingredients to make the perfect story'

WARNING – SPOILER ALERT FOR BOOK 1

Some stories are really hard to follow up but the Secret of the Sirens must have been really easy to carry on because I couldn't think of any better way to do it. The Gorgon's Gaze has the same amazing imaginative storyline as the first book and it makes you feel like you need to read the next book straight away.

The summer holidays are drawing to a close, and Connie Lionheart is looking
forward to her new high school. At least she was, until her great-aunt and uncle arrived on her doorstep, demanding they that they take her away from her aunt and her friends to live with them in Chartmouth. She is distraught and completely unconnected to the natural world and is at a loss without her companion, a golden dragon. As if this wasn't enough as well as being home schooled now, the wood is being cut down to make way for a road that is being built! Connie is struggling to cope with all the things around her that are happening, when she is banned from anyone or anything to do with the society. Oh, and one more minor thing: Kullervo is seething at her last escape and will seem to stop at nothing to get at her...

This is unlike any other series because it has got all the ingredients to make the perfect story. Annoyingly, not a lot of people seem to have read them and I don't know why. Do read them! Unlike most fantasy stories, it makes you wonder if it could actually be true, you just don't know about it... I'll leave that thought with you...
