Anyone aged seven to 25 can be part of a really exciting Poetry Day project: Dylan’s Great Poem.

It’s a chance to join in with developing an epic 100 line poem on the theme of “remembering” (this year’s Poetry Day theme) to celebrate the centenary of the great Welsh poet Dylan Thomas who was born 100 years ago. This poem project is being run by Literature Wales but you don’t have to be Welsh to join in!

All you have to do is submit up to four lines of poetry, each can be up to eight words long, on the theme of “Remember” in the spirit of Dylan Thomas.

You can send in your lines on www.developingdylan100.co.uk from 9am on 2 October (yes, that’s tomorrow) and you have just 24 hours to get your entries in.

The lines will be edited into a 100-line poem by Welsh poets Owen Sheers and Mari George and the finished poem will be published online in English and Welsh on 6 October plus read on BBC Radio Wales. Owen Sheers and Mari George will provide updates on their progress editing Dylan’s Great Poem on Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag #GreatPoem.
