Harry Potter may well die in the seventh and final instalment of JK Rowling's bestselling series, the actor who plays him in the films has said. "I've always had the suspicion that Harry might die," 14-year-old Daniel Radcliffe said on Radio 1. "He and Voldemort have the same core. I think the only way Voldemort can die is if Harry dies as well." Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban opens here on Monday.

Gary Oldman, who stars as Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - which opens here on Monday - is in talks to play a sadistic prison warden opposite Adam Sandler in a remake of the 1974 comedy The Longest Yard. The Hollywood Reporter says Sandler would play an imprisoned quarterback who must coach a team against the guards. Chris Rock and Burt Reynolds are already on board and the picture is due to begin filming later this year.

The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown's conspiracy theory bestseller, has sparked a casting war among Hollywood stars for the lead role in a forthcoming adaptation, according to Comingsoon, a film gossip website. The site says George Clooney, Russell Crowe, Tom Hanks and Hugh Jackman are lining up to play an American symbology expert who becomes embroiled in a murderous race to discover an ancient secret. Ron Howard and producing partner Brian Grazer are preparing to make the picture for Sony.
