BlueDms123: 'The Disgrace Of Kitty Grey reminded me how much I love historical fiction books, even though I've only read a few'

The Disgrace Of Kitty Grey is set in 1813, and it's about a girl named Kitty who is working as a dairy maid at a grand house. She loves her life there, and enjoys being courted by Will, a handsome river man. But one day, Will vanishes. Leaving Kitty to care for his little sister. Kitty is heartbroken, so when she is sent on an errand to London by her mistress she decides to try and find Will.

But as soon as she gets to London she is robbed of all her money and belongings...

Alone and vulnerable in the vast city, will Kitty be able to survive the ways of London and find her way back home?

Reading The Disgrace Of Kitty Grey reminded me how much I love historical fiction books, even though I've only read a few. And this one is definitely my favorite! Although the story starts off quite tame and easy to read, once you get about half way through it's like a totally different book! It's exciting and completely gripping till the very end, and the plot has some very unexpected twists and turns which I would never have guessed.

Also I loved the style in which it was written; it wasn't written in such an old style that is was hard to read, but it wasn't like a book set in modern times either. All in all I thought it was an excellent book, and I would recommend it to fans of adventure, and of historical fiction.
