Welcome to the second part of our Paper Towns readalong! We’re discussing part two (The Grass) and part three (The Vessel) of John Green’s book all this week! You can share your thoughts on Twitter and Facebook using #PaperTownsRead or email us at childrens.books@theguardian.com and we’ll feed into this blog

Hello and welcome, readers, to the second part of #PaperTownsRead!

We started last week with the prologue and part one (The Strings) – you can catch up with what happened here – and this week we are turning to part two (The Grass) and part two (The Vessel). And don’t worry if you missed out last week, latecomers are more than welcome!

There are lots of ways you can get involved.

  1. You can tweet about it using #PaperTownsRead and, even better, add @GdnChildrenBks too. Then everyone who is joining our readalong can see your nugget of wisdom, comment on it, reply and join in – you’ll probably gain some great new followers on Twitter too! We’ll add as many as we can to this blog so they are all in one place.
  2. On Facebook. Again you need to use #PaperTownsRead. Go to the Guardian Teen Facebook page and there you’ll find this article ready and waiting for your likes and comments. Again, we’ll add as many as we can to this blog so they are all in one place.
  3. Good old fashioned email! If Twitter or Facebook aren’t your thing why don’t you just email us your thoughts to childrens.books@theguardian.com with the subject line #PaperTownsRead and we can add them to this page too!

So here are a few ideas to get you started:

• “Margo always loved mysteries. And in everything that came afterward, I could never stop thinking that maybe she loved mysteries so much that she became one” – do you think Margo wants to be found?

• Which of Q’s friends would you most like to know? What did you think of Qs high school?

• What did you think Q was going to find at the end of the road trip? And what was your reaction to the end?

• “Just remember that sometimes, the way you think about a person isn’t the way they actually are” – which character’s version of the ‘real’ Margo do you most agree with?

We can’t wait to hear what you have to say and what you want to talk about – remember to use #PaperTownsRead on everything you do, whether it’s Twitter, Facebook or by email to childrens.books@theguardian.com.

Let’s read!
