The final chapter in the Hunger Games franchise hits cinemas in November and after a tease last month, the full-length trailer for Mockingjay – Part 2 has now arrived.
The film version of the last book in the YA series was split into two parts, the first of which arrived to a slightly muted response last year – but the conclusion hopes to bring back audiences who were scared off. (In fact, Mockingjay – Part 1 took more than $100m less worldwide than its predecessor, Catching Fire). Jennifer Lawrence returns as Katniss Everdeen, who leads a revolution all the way to the evil President Snow’s front door. Returning cast members also include Julianne Moore, Elizabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson.
“I don’t really feel like [the end] has happened yet,” Jennifer Lawrence said at Comic-Con earlier this month. “It’s such a huge part of my life. These movies changed my life. I don’t think I’ll ever say goodbye. Katniss is a part of me.”
The franchise has so far made over $2.3bn at the global box office and the final chapter is expected to bring this total to over $3bn.
- The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is released in Australia and the UK on 19 November and in the US on 20 November
