Charlie Merricks Misfits in Fouls, Friends and Football by Dave Cousins

Charlie is a football player but he is not that good. He plays for North Star Galaxy. Then a person called Jack comes, he is an excellent goal keeper. Jack goes to a football academy. North Star Galaxy gets entered in to a cup but they lose the first round. Jack fancies Charlie's sister Emily; they go on a date that Charlie sets up. North Star Galaxy's rivals are called Goldbridge Colts.
I would recommend this book for age 5 to 99 years old. I like the book because I'm crazy about footy. I play in goal; it is inspirational to me. I play for a team. This is my favourite book. Even people that don't like footy would like this book. If you like this book you will probably like Final Whistle by Dan Freedman.

Lady Grace Mysteries: Assassin by Grace Cavendish

This book is about when Lady Grace's mother dies and she and the Queen have to live together. There is a murder at court but nobody knows who has done it. This book includes daggers, death and courage. Lady Grace has to solve the murder. There are lots of hard words to read but there is a glossary at the back. I like reading detective books because I like trying to solve the mystery. I would recommend this book for age 8 upwards.

The Great Pet Shop Panic by Katie Davies

I think this book is a brilliant book if you like animals, adventure and a little bit of planning. It's very well designed to look like Anna's notebook and very realistic as it has dictionary snippets and folded pages. My age recommendation is 6-10 as there are a few pictures to help but it doesn't turn into a picture book. Anna, Tom and Suzanne are on another mystery, this time a thieving one.

Tom Gates: A Tiny Bit Lucky by Liz Pichon

Tom Gates is a naughty boy who has a knack for finding hidden sweets. He has even used his best friend's dog to keep Delia (his moody sister) away, as she's allergic to dogs. There is a doodle in every sentence, this makes reading very easy to understand. I LOVE THE DOODLES! Another brilliant Tom Gates diary adventure.
