This is the third book of the Young James Bond series and it is my favourite so far. Like the others, it is set when James is still a boy at Eton school, in the time between the first and second world wars.
Trouble always seems to come looking for the young James. Without giving too much away, the plot involves him trying to rescue an Eton master who has gone missing.
Through the course of this book you learn that James is resourceful, quick thinking, a good friend, brave and strong willed. He constantly finds himself in dangerous situations and has to use all of his talents to survive.
The book is fast-paced, exciting and thrilling. On top of this it is packed with interesting information, both about Britain at that time in history and about the development of computers, which I found fascinating.
I'm awarding this book 5 stars as it kept me hooked the whole way through. My brother recommended it to me and I recommend it to you!
