I enjoyed this book very much. I liked all the bits where Osbert has plans for how to kill all the horrible, mean teachers of the institute. I wasn't so keen on the bits where it described the atmosphere in the morning and a few more things like that, but that only happened a few times, so over all I thought it was a good book. I would recommend this book to boys and girls through the age range of 8 to 12.
I also liked Mr Lomm, who always seemed to brighten things up. I didn't really like how Isabella gave Osbert away just because he had won the Constantin violin. I really liked the end of the book where there is a newspaper about things that are happening in the town where Osbert lives.
If I was to give this book a rating out of 10, I would probally say 7/10 because it wasn't the best book I've read, but I enjoyed it quite a lot. If you like gruesome books, then this is one for you. If you also like Roald Dahl, then you might like this too.
