This is a book for pet lovers and it has lots of mysteries. When Dougal's pet tarantula goes missing he desperately searches the house for it. The spider was given to him by the president of the London Zoological Association, Mr Wellington because the spider was homeless.

Dougal set up a blog and put a missing notice out for the spider. Lots of people replied but one person offered to give him the spider. He was told by the mystery blogger to go to the tree which had a hollow in it and when he arrived he found one stolen pet – an African bullfrog. The story follows a blog led trail of missing pets and even some spider skin!

I like the bits about pets and the mystery. It is just a really good book and now that I have read it I want to read Dougal's other adventures. It reminds me of Diary of a Wimpy kid and Tom Gates which I also like. The book shows the blog. I liked the recipes like baked bean pizza! I recommend it to everyone over 6 years.
