Shadows is about a cute 15 year old girl, Eve Evergold, who is enjoying a busy social life until she finds out a demon is after her soul. She needs to discover who it is and fast. The author makes you think it is Luke, one of their friends, that is the demon but in the last chapter you find out its Mal who would be the least expected character to be a demon.

My favourite part in the book is when Eve is round at Mal's house and she finds out he's the demon. This part in the book is very exciting and you don't know what is going to happen. Thankfully Eve's best friends Luke and Jess arrive and save Eve.

The key events take place when Jess and Eve go round to Luke's house and collect some research Luke has done: they find out for a demon to capture a soul they need to kiss the suspect. That is when they start suspecting Luke as being the demon. Also another key event is when they find out Mal is the demon.

My favourite characters are Jess and Eve as they are just inseparable and are always there for each other. They remind me of my friends, they are both obsessed with shopping also like my friends and I.

Amy Meredith now lives in California, though she has lived and worked in New York and the Hamptons. She has always had a fascination with the supernatural and wishes she had a super power like Eve's - although in real life she says she would definitely prefer shopping to demon-fighting!

I wrote this book review last year in my English class; it was my favourite book then and although I have read loads of books since then this book is still one of my favourites.
