Greetings, Booker-fans. The 2012 shortlist – as selected by this year's panel, Dinah Birch, Amanda Foreman, Dan Stevens, Bharat Tandon and chair Sir Peter Stothard – has been announced. Bookies' favourites Self and Mantel are there, but the other names are less well-known. Over to you.
