Alex Rider is a name all children from the age of ten to twelve must know. He is the hero of the books Stormbreaker, Point Blanc, Skeleton Key, Eagle Strike, Scorpia, Ark Angel, Snakehead, Crocodile Tears and Scorpia Rising. The British author Anthony Horowitz writes the series.
In this book Alex lands in the South Pacific when returning from Ark Angel. He is picked up by the USS Kitty Hawk and landed with the Australian SAS. There he learns about the Snakeheads and how they smuggle refugees into Australia at a phenomenal price. He also learns the truth about the mysterious Major Winston Yu and his even more mysterious involvements with Scorpia. Now that is a big surprise.
This book is a thriller that blossoms with danger at every step. Anthony Horowitz certainly brings out the gruesome and brutal relationship between the Snakehead and the refugees. He also brings out the genius in Alex's mind that comes to play in his muscle strength, karate moves and his overall interest to get into danger.
It is a book that you can read over and over again without getting bored. My favourite characters are Alex, Smithers, the cheery gadget inventor, the heartless and still MI6 operator Alan Blunt and Yassen Gregorovitch, the stone cold assassin. These awesome characters can only be found in the Alex Rider series. You will need the best of your ability to survive the bumpy ride into the world of Snakehead.
