Lily Alone by Jacqueline Wilson – review

Skywalker: 'A truly brilliant addition to any girl's book-shelf'

Lily finds herself alone in the house with her three younger siblings, Baxter, Bliss, and Pixie, when her slightly loopy mother leaves on a sudden holiday to Spain with her new boyfriend.

Mum thinks she is leaving the kids in good hands with Mickey, (Baxter and Bliss's dad), except Mickey never turns up, so the kids have to manage by themselves.

But with hardly any food in the fridge, and a crazy old lady next door who's always on their case, is it really all going to go OK? Lily doubts it, and so does everyone else.

Lily Alone is Jacqueline Wilson's brand new book, and, unsurprisingly, it's brilliant.

This book is clever, unique, and really hard to put down!

I would definitely recommend it to any Jacqueline Wilson fan, and possibly to someone who hasn't read any of her books yet.

It certainly lives up to my expectation of a book, and as far as I'm concerned, it's a truly brilliant addition to any girl's book-shelf!
